A trusted guide through the Medicare maze since 2004

Hi, I'm Richard Martinez β€” founder of Medicare Insurance Compare LLC. I'm a native Arizonan, currently living in Gilbert, Arizona. I've been an independent Medicare broker since 2004, and in 22 years I've helped thousands of Arizonans find coverage that truly fits their lives. I work with most major medical health insurance companies and can help you shop the market to help you make a well informed decision to find you a plan that fits your needs and saves you money. I work across the entire state of Arizona.

Because I'm independent, I'm never tied to a single insurance company. I shop across more than 20 carriers to find the plan that works for your doctors, your prescriptions, and your budget β€” and I explain everything in plain language, no jargon, no pressure.

Questions Richard hears every day

No question is too basic. Medicare is genuinely confusing β€” that's exactly why Richard is here.

Nothing β€” ever. As an independent broker, Richard is paid by the insurance carriers when you enroll. His advice, plan comparisons, and ongoing support are completely free to you, and he's required by law to offer you the same price you'd get going directly to the carrier.
You're first eligible at 65. Your Initial Enrollment Period starts 3 months before your birthday month and ends 3 months after. There are also Special Enrollment Periods if you're retiring and losing employer coverage, and the Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 – December 7 each year.
Medicare Advantage replaces Original Medicare with a private plan (often $0 premium but with network restrictions and copays). A Supplement/Medigap works alongside Original Medicare, covering your out-of-pocket costs with no network limits. The right choice depends on your doctors, medications, travel habits, and budget β€” Richard will walk you through it.
It depends on the plan type. With a Medigap plan, you can keep any doctor who accepts Medicare nationwide. With Medicare Advantage, you'll need to check that your doctors are in-network. Richard always verifies your specific doctors before recommending any plan.
Yes. Medicare Advantage plans can be changed during the Annual Enrollment Period (Oct 15–Dec 7) or the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period (Jan 1–Mar 31). Richard will remind you each year and review your plan at no charge to make sure you're still getting the best deal.
